Big Special have released a new single, Dragged Up A Hill (And Thrown Down The Other Side).
Showcasing a softer, emotionally-charged sound, the atmospheric slow-burner follows the Walsall duo's October track Plaintive Native, and their appearance on the Sleaford Mods single The Good Life alongside Game Of Thrones and Star Wars actress Gwendoline Christie. On the new song, frontman Joe Hicklin said:
"A song written a while ago that we picked back out of our dusty drawer. It's about the old labouring days and the feeling of getting nowhere in love and work, despite the graft. Disclaimer: Don't listen whilst drunk."
Hicklin and Callum Moloney surprise released their second album, 'National Average', in July. They'll tour North America next month supporting Public Service Broadcasting, followed by headline shows across the UK and Ireland in February and March.
They're also set to appear at a number of festivals next year, including Boomtown Fair, Bearded Theory, and TRNSMT. Tickets are on sale now.
