Brian Fallon Returns With Two New Tracks Not Bad For New Jersey and Better Before

Brian Fallon has returned with two new tracks.
Released via his own Lesser Known Records, Not Bad For New Jersey and Better Before mark The Gaslight Anthem frontman's first original solo music in over five years.
Produced by longtime collaborator Butch Walker, known for his work with Green Day, Jesse Malin and Taylor Swift, at his studio on the outskirts of Nashville, both tracks deliver the veteran rocker's signature mix of power-pop, heartland rock and raw, emotionally-charged songwriting. The former is a gritty tribute to Fallon's home state, while the latter was co-written with Donovan Woods and tells the story of a failing relationship. Introducing Not Bad For New Jersey, Fallon said:
"Not Bad for New Jersey is my way of celebrating what I do and where I’m from. I wrote that song looking back on my life the way you do after almost ending up in a crash – like, ‘How did I make it through that?’ I really could’ve busted myself open somewhere along the way, but somehow I’m still here, and I’m still in one piece."
He'll celebrate his new music with intimate shows in Asbury Park, Nashville, West Hollywood and Chicago In June, at which he'll be accompanied by his backing band The Painkillers. Head here for details. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (May 15).
He'll also join Bruce Springsteen, Rosanne Cash and Kenny Chesney for a special, sold-out concert, billed as Music America: The Songs That Shaped Us – Celebrating 250 Years of American Music, on June 4 at the OceanFirst Bank Center on the Monmouth University campus, prior to the opening of the new Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music on June 7. Fallon's latest solo studio release is 2021's 'Night Divine', a collection of hymns he recorded at home during the COVID-19 quarantine. Before that, he put out 'Local Honey' in 2020.
The Gaslight Anthem, meanwhile, returned from hiatus with 'History Books' in 2023, their sixth full-length album and first in nine years.
