The Script Announce Man In The Arena Tour And New Album 'The User's Guide To Being Human'

The Script have announced the Man In The Arena Tour.
The Irish pop-rock band will take it to Ireland first for two nights at Dublin's 3Arena on October 30 and 31, before heading to arenas across the UK and Europe throughout November, with the run including a huge London show at The O2 on November 21.
The tour extends into spring 2027, with arena shows in Manila, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore lined up in March. A show in Jakarta, Indonesia is also in the calendar for April 3, though the venue is still to be announced.
Tickets for all dates go on general sale at 9.30am on May 29.
Alongside the huge tour announcement, the group have announced a new album, 'The User’s Guide To Being Human'. The follow-up to 2024's 'Satellites' is due for release on August 14. Frontman Danny O’Donoghue wrote the new material with The Script's previous collaborators Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner and Jimbo Barry, with recording taking place in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles. O'Donoghue said:
“The title is what this album is about. If you need something to remind you of the spectrum of feelings and emotions that make you feel human, this is it.”
As a preview, the band have shared the new single Man In The Arena (hence the tour name), which is aptly an arena-sized earworm complete with singalong chorus, the lyrics for which were party inspired by a speech from former American President Theodore Roosevelt. O'Donoghue explained:
“He talks about how honours don't belong to the critics. They don't belong to the people sitting on the couch, laughing at the person in the ring stumbling and falling around. The honours belong to the one who gets in there and whose face is marred with dust and blood. I remember reading it and being like: that needs to be in a tune, the energy in it is beautiful.”
Prior to their own headline dates, this summer The Script will support Take That at stadiums across the UK and Luke Combs at Slane Castle in Ireland. Tickets for those shows are already on sale.
