Lola Young has released a new single.
The London singer-songwriter composed the track with Mount Kimbie's Dom Maker, James Blake and Jameela Jamil, with all three also contributing to production, as well as Maker playing bass and Blake providing keyboard, strings and background vocals.
The song, which finds Young's effortless powerhouse vocals complemented by subtle beats and strings, is the Grammy-winning artist's first since the release of her 2025 album 'I'm Only F**king Myself'. Introducing it, she said:
“The day after the GRAMMYs, I had a wave of inspiration hit me, so I got in the studio with the incredible James Blake and made this song. I am rewriting the next chapter of my story because what a boring book the old one would’ve been anyway.”
The track arrives ahead of Young's set at this weekend's BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Sunderland and the Capital FM Summertime Ball with Barclaycard in London on June 6. Following that, she'll hit the road for a headline UK tour.
Later in the year, she'll headline All Things Go Festival in both New York and Maryland in September and appear at Austin City Limits in October. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
Young had a good time at The Ivor Novello Awards yesterday, taking home PRS for Music Most Performed Work for Messy, having last year received the Rising Star Award.
