Lola Young is a singer-songwriter from South East London.
Starting to write songs at 11 years old, by the age of 13 she had beaten out over 9,000 other acts across the country to win Open Mic UK and is a graduate of the prestigious BRIT school. She quickly began to gain mainstream attention after receiving a Rising Star BRIT Award nomination in 2021 and her cover of Together In Electric Dreams having been selected for the John Lewis Christmas Advert, earning her the fourth place spot on the BBC Sound of 2022. Her debut LP, 'My Mind Wanders And Sometimes Leaves Completely', arrived in 2023, but she truly shot to fame in 2024, when her now-Grammy-winning single Messy became a viral TikTok smash and hit the #1 spot in the UK's Official Singles Chart. That same year, she featured on a track with Tyler, The Creator and put out her second album, 'This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway'.
