The Snuts Announce Fourth Album 'Joy In Short Moments' And Accompanying UK Tour For Autumn

The Snuts have outlined plans for their fourth studio album.
The follow-up to 2024's 'Millennials' and its deluxe edition is titled 'Joy In Short Moments' and will arrive on October 23 via Happy Artist Records in partnership with Virgin Music Group. Described as the Scottish indie-rockers' most grounded record to date, it was written after vocalist-guitarist Jack Cochrane settled back home, became a father, and started thinking about questions that continuous touring had pushed aside. He said:
"After three records of constant motion, I felt pulled back towards real life. Success, failure, parenthood and loss all found their way into these songs. 'Joy in Short Moments' is the sound of reconnecting with what matters and learning to find meaning in the small things whilst navigating the questions; Who am I? Where should I be? Where am I going? What makes it all worthwhile?"
Alongside the announcement, the four-piece have shared a summery new single, Defibrillator, an upbeat offering inspired by the idea of a living wake, where you celebrate your life with loved ones while you are still alive to be part of it.
"I wanted to write a track that detailed a conscious decision to live and love more," Cochrane explained. "To take life less seriously and dilute ego as often as possible. Defibrillator is a song that celebrates the collective and trivialises the sludgy worries of being alive."
The band's earlier singles Motherlands and Summer Rains will also appear on the album.
The Snuts will play Glasgow's TRNSMT festival tomorrow (June 20), Kendal Calling and Y Not? Festival, alongside a handful of European shows this summer, followed by a newly announced UK tour in the autumn, which includes a show at London's O2 Academy Brixton on December 10. Support will come from The Kairos and tickets go on general sale at 10am next Friday (June 26).
