Behemoth have shared the title track of their upcoming studio release, 'I, Scvlptor'.

The dark death metal offering deals in the Polish band's signature crushing riffs and blast-beat-driven intensity, and arrives with a video produced by acclaimed Polish production collective Grupa 13 that reflects the song's theatrical, ritualistic aesthetic. Frontman Nergal commented:

"'I, Scvlptor' is a new Behemoth song rooted in the tradition of monumental tracks like 'O Father O Satan O Sun!', 'Lucifer' or 'Nieboga Czarny Xiądz', while at the same time opening a new chapter. It carries that epic weight but also takes an unexpected turn that makes it feel fresh and different from the previous pieces. Lyrically, it is a metaphor for the endless process of shaping oneself - an uneven struggle with matter and personal limitations. The paradox is that from the moment we are born we are already destined to die, so perhaps it is not about victory itself, but about the constant act of sculpting who we are."

'I, Scvlptor' is set to arrive through Massacre Records/Nuclear Blast on September 4 as an exclusive compilation featuring eight previously unreleased songs, comprising seven new studio recordings and one live track. Two tracks — Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil, from 1992's 'The Return of the Northern Moon', and In Thy Pandemaeternum, from 1998's 'Pandemonic Incantations' — are new versions of early Behemoth material. The release also includes covers of Venom's In League With Satan featuring Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir, and Bathory's The Return of Darkness and Evil, with Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ.

"We’re fucking excited about the release of 'I, Scvlptor', Nergal continued. "Even though it’s not a regular studio album and is, in fact, more of a compilation, the mere fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us. What’s more, some of these tracks are likely a little different from what we offered on our last album, The Shit Ov God. That’s why we see I,Scvlptor as an important record — a connecting piece, a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next in the distant future."

Having just laid waste to Download Festival, Behemoth will next appear at Hellfest in France this weekend and Tons Of Rock in Norway next week before teaming up with Dimmu Borgir for a show at London's O2 Academy Brixton on October 17 as part of the co-headline In League With Satan Tour across Europe, which kicks off in Zurich, Switzerland on October 9 and wraps up in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 30. Support will come from Dark Funeral.
