The Specials Announce New Live DVD

2-Tone legends The Specials have revealed news about a new live DVD which is set for release later this year.

The Specials took the British charts by storm during the 1980s using the simple idea of taking Ska rhythms and merging it with the energy of punk. The band were only around for just two albums but during their time together they created a black and white template for a generation of British youth leaving a phenomenal legacy spread across the world.

Having returned last year, reforming without founding member Jerry Dammers, the group played a series of UK tours and sell out gigs. Highlights had to include their appearance at Glastonbury and a five night residency at a sold out London Brixton Academy. The Specials are now looking to fire up 2010 early with a number of other tour dates as well as a new live DVD.

Capturing the performance at their Wolverhampton Civic Hall show last November, The Specials can be seen on top form in front of a devoted Midlands audience. Kicking off with ‘Do The Dog’ the new DVD includes all the hits and finishes on fan favourite ‘Too Much Too Young’.

Featuring a full live set along with backstage footage and interviews the new DVD gives an inside look into the reformed Specials. With the tonic suits still in immaculate condition, we could be forgiven for it feeling like 1979 all over again!

‘The Specials – 30th Anniversary Tour’ is due for release in March.

Track listing is as follows:

Do The Dog
(Dawning Of A) New Era
Gangsters
It's Up To You
Monkey Man
Rat Race
Hey, Little Rich Girl
Blank Expression
Doesn't Make It Alright
Stupid Marriage
Concrete Jungle
