Duke Special Reveals Unique Album Details And UK Tour & Tickets

One of Ireland’s most successful musical exports, Duke Special, has announced details of a new UK tour, which gets underway in Leeds on May 1st.

Real name Peter Wilson and seemingly working in a universe of his own, Duke Special is an unusual character. The singer has long dreadlocks, which he matches up with eyeliner and unique outfits he likes to refer to as ‘hobo chic’.

With three special new records to be released together on March 8th, the ambitious box set, triple album will be entitled “The Stage, A Book & The Silver Screen”. Having built up a devoted fan base, the singer offered fans a chance to help raise funds to work on the unique album series.

The first album is called ‘The Silent World Of Hector Mann’, based on a novel by Paul Auster. The second album will be entitled ‘Huckleberry Finn’, based on an unfinished musical by Kurt Weill, Duke Special will be the first person to record the suite. Finally, the third instalment will be a special version of a Bertolt Brecht opera titled ‘Mother Courage’. Funded entirely by his fans, the triple album is just the start of the singer’s unique vision.

Duke Special has also confirmed that his new single “Wanda, Darling of the Jockey Club” will be released on May 17th.

After recently performing a series of stunning and intimate shows in London, Belfast and Dublin last week, Duke Special has now announced a lengthy list of shows to take place across UK venues in May.

The eleven-date jaunt includes shows in Edinburgh on May 3rd, Manchester on May 7th and London on May 13th.
