LCD Soundsystem New Album To Be Their Last

James Murphy has announced that LCD Soundsytem’s latest album will be their last, spelling an end to the band after almost nine years.

The LCD Soundsystem man, a co-founder of DFA records, has been known to make similar comments in the past but Murphy believes the yet to be titled record is an adequate end point. The producer is currently in the process of adding the finishing touches and placing the cherry on top of the band’s latest record.

Due out in May, Murphy stated “I feel like this should be the last record because a lot of people make three good records and then they don’t make good records anymore”.

He added that he feels he’d made his point with the band and their music, “like I’ve kind of explained myself and it’s time to do something else”.

Something else, that may be a fourth LCD album at some point…if cynics are to be believed.
