Diamanda Galas is an American avant-garde soprano, composer, musician, performance artist, and painter from San Diego, California.
Starting her music career in 1973, she released her debut album, ‘The Litanies of Satan’, in 1982, which was followed by ‘Diamanda Galas’, in 1984, ‘The Divine Punishment’ and ‘Saint of the Pit’, in 1986, ‘You Must Be Certain of the Devil’, in 1988, ‘The Singer’, 1992 and ‘The Sporting Life’, in 1994, with John Paul Jones.
