The Dresden Dolls is an American alternative band that formed in 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts. Consisting of Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione, who share vocal and instrumental duties between them, they would self-release their first EP back in 2001, before putting out their eponymous debut record in 2003.
Before their hiatus in 2008, The Dresden Dolls would earn a large and loyal worldwide fanbase, especially thanks to their highly-rated live shows, which made a favourite festival fixture too, having appeared at Reading/Leeds, Lollapalooza, SXSW, and Bonaroo amongst others.
Returning in 2010 for a reunion tour, The Dresden Dolls are now performing together again, despite having not released music a new record since 2006.
