Erasure are an English synthpop band from London, consisting of singer-songwriter Andy Bell and multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Vince Clarke, best known for tracks such as A Little Respect, Sometimes, Victim of Love, Ship of Fool, Chains of Love, The Circus, and Breathe.

Formed in 1985, the band released their debut album, ‘Wonderland’, in 1986, but it was their second album, ‘The Circus’, released in 1987, which saw them breakthrough into the mainstream, reaching #6 in the UK Albums Chart. Their third album, ‘The Innocents’, gave them their first #1 in 1988, while ‘Wild!’, in 1989, ‘Chorus’, in 1991, and ‘I Say I Say I Say’, in 1994 all also hit the top spot. The band released their seventeenth album, ‘World Be Gone’, in May 2017.
