Gipsy Kings are a French rumba flamenca band from Arles and Montpellier, consisting of Nicolas, Pablo and Tonino Baliardo, alongside
Formed in 1978, the band released their debut album, ‘Allegria’, in 1982, but it wasn’t until their third self-titled album, released in 1987, that the band gained worldwide recognition. Their fifth album, ‘Este Mundo’, gained them their first nomination for a Grammy Award for Best World Music Album. The band have released 13 albums over their career, the latest being ‘Savor Flamenco’ in 2013, which finally won them the Grammy, after four nominations.
Gipsy Kings returned for a second year running to play a gig at the Old Royal Naval College in London, as part of Greenwich Music Time, in July 2016, as well as playing a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall for Autism Rocks.
The band are set to play a handful of festival appearances this summer alongside their own headline shows, including Wychwood Festival in June, Kew The Music Festival in the grounds of Kew Gardens in July, and A Boundless Summer in August.
