Half Man Half Biscuit (often abbreviated to HMHB) is an English indie-rock and post-punk outfit hailing from Birkenhead, Merseyside. Formed in 1984 by friends Nigel Blackwell and Neil Crossley, they quickly made a name for themselves and topped the UK indie chart with their 1985 debut album 'Back in the DHSS', a record which saw them performing at Glastonbury.
The band split soon after but returned in 1990 for good, and went on to release a number of albums over the years - though they didn't find major chart success, they kept their loyal fanbase's thirst for music quenched. In 1996, the line-up changed to include Blackwell and Crossley alongside Ken Hancock and Carl Henry, a line-up which remains today. Catch them at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire in March 2014, following a string of UK shows.
