Marion Tickets & Tour Dates
Marion are a rock band from Cheshire, United Kingdom featuring Jaime Harding and Blair Murray. The band’s original lineup was Jaime Harding (vocals, harmonica), Anthony Grantham (guitar), Phil Cunningham (guitar), Julian Philips (bass), and Murad Mousa (drums).
Having been formed by Harding, with the help of Joe Moss, former manager of The Smiths, the band attracted major label interest, and kicked off a bidding war, eventually signing with London Record in 1994. They reached the top ten in the UK Album Charts with their debut, ‘This World and Body’ released in 1996. For the band’s second album, ‘The Program’, they worked with Johnny Marr. The band played with the likes of Morrissey, Radiohead, Ian McCulloch of Echo & The Bunnymen and Manic Street Preachers, as well as playing Glastonbury Festival three times, a host of other UK and Europe festivals, two tours of Japan and four short tours of America. The band ended when Harding’s drug addiction became too much. Marr impressed with Cunningham’s guitar playing, recruited him to play in Electronic, which then led to Cunningham becoming a permanent member of New Order. In 2006, Harding and Cunningham reformed the band with a new set of musicians, and began writing new material. They sold out shows in Bath, London and Manchester in 2006, but due to Harding becoming ill, and having to undergo open-heart surgery, the band was yet again put on hiatus. The original lineup of the band reformed in September 2011 for about two years worth of shows, and a live album, and in 2015, Harding revealed he was continuing the band with himself as the sole original member of the band involved, including ex-Twisted Wheel drummer Blair Murray. The new lineup will play a show at London’s O2 Academy Islington in March 2013.Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and ticket information below.
