mewithoutYou are an American post rock band from Philadelphia, consisting of vocalist Aaron Weiss, guitarists Brandon Beaver and Mike Weiss, bass player Greg Jehanian and Rick Mazzotta on drums.
They formed in 2001 as a side project to brothers Aaron and Michael Weiss’s hard rock band the Operation, so that they could play a more experimental style of rock. The band signed with Tooth & Nail and the Operation disbanded so that the group could focus on mewithoutYou. They released their debut album, ‘[A -- > B] Life’, in 2002, followed by ‘Catch for Us the Foxes’ in 2004 and 'Brother, Sister’ in 2006. By 2009 the band had tired of post-rock and moved more towards an acoustic experimental-folk sound on their fourth album, ‘It's All Crazy! It's All False! It's All a Dream! It's Alright’. 2012’s ‘Ten Stories’ followed in the same vain but 2015’s, ‘Pale Horses’ saw the band return to their rock roots. The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the USA and Europe, and have supported the likes of Dredg, Coheed & Cambria and Thursday. After a five year hiatus the band are returned to Europe, with a string of UK shows in February 2016, with The World Is A Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid To Die. In 2018 they released their latest LP, '[Untitled]'. mewithoutYou will continue to support their new record in summer 2019 with a co-headline tour across the US with Cursive.
