Michelle Obama is a lawyer, administrator and writer who served as the First Lady of the United States when he husband, Barack Obama, was President between 2009 and 2017.
Raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, Obama is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. In her early legal career, she worked at the law firm Sidley Austin, where she met Barack. Later, she held various positions in the Chicago city government and at the University of Chicago. She also served on the board of directors of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
As First Lady, Obama advocated, supported and created various project to help the homeless, education, women, housing, military families, healthy eating, LGBT rights and many more.
