MØ is that stage name of Karen Marie Ørsted, a Danish electropop singer-songwriter, from Odense, Ubberud. She has featured tracks such as Iggy Azalea's Beg for It, Major Lazer and DJ Snake's Lean On, Major Lazer’s Cold Water and Snakehips’ Don't Leave.
Starting her music career in 2007, after forming the punk band MOR, the band released two EPs before disbanding in 2012. MØ then launched a solo career, releasing her debut single, Glass, in 2013, followed by the EP, ‘Bikini Daze’, and her debut album, ‘No Mythologies to Follow’, which came out in 2014. She is expected to release her sophomore album in the near future.
MØ has headlined her own shows and tours across the USA and UK, and has supported AlunaGeorge on tour too - most recently she reached the UK and Ireland for dates in October as part of the Straight On Till Morning Tour.
On 26 October 2017, MØ released her second EP, 'When I Was Young'. In support, she heads out on the MEØW Tour alongside Cashmere Cat. Catch her live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
MØ’s ear for catchy hooks and earnest lyrics has made her a favourite collaborator among mainstream and alternative producers, but that has in turn left her caught between two worlds. That split is showcased on her surprise EP, ‘When I Was Young’.
