Nas, is the stage name of Nasir Jones is an American hip hop rapper, songwriter and producer from New York.
Starting his music career in 1991, he released his debut album, ‘Illmatic’, in 1994, which reached #12 in the Billboard Hot 200. His second album, ‘It Was Written’, came out in 1996 and hit the top spot in the chart, as did 1999’s ‘I Am..’, ‘Hip Hop Is Dead’, in 2006, 2008’s ‘Untitled’ and ‘Life Is Good’ in 2012.
He has headlined his own shows and tours across the USA and UK, including shows performing 'Illmatic' in full, celebrating its 21st anniversary.

For all that Kanye West and Donald Trump's ongoing public love-in has proven embarrassing and nightmarish for a whole host of reasons, one thing they do have in common is a shameless desire to promote their respective “brands” at every opportunity.
