Rakia Traore is a Malian singer, songwriter and guitarist.
She released her debut album, ‘Mouneïssa’ in 1997, which was followed by her
second album ‘Wanita’ in 2000, which was widely acclaimed, nominated by The New York times critics albums of the year. She released ‘Bowmboï’ in 2003, and was awarded the BBC Radio 3 World Music Award. ‘Tchamantché‘ was released in 2008, and ‘Beautiful Africa' in 2013 (supported by a show at Glastonbury), but her latest 'Né So' dropped in 2016.
