Jonathan "Spike" Gray is a singer-songwriter from Newcastle.
Best known for being the former frontman and founding member of The Quireboys, he formed the band in 1984, releasing three albums together before splitting in 1993. In the meantime, he played in several other projects including God's Hotel, Spike 'n' Darrell and Spike & Tyla's Hot Knives, before reuniting with The Quireboys in 2001. They released a further nine albums together before Spike left the band in 2022. As well as his work with The Quireboys, he has also collaborated with the likes of L.A. Guns, Bon Jovi and Poison's C.C.Deville, as well as being part of the supergroup Damage Control and releasing five of his own solo records. His most recent solo serving, '100% Pure Frankie Miller', arrived in 2014, and he now tours under the Spike's Quireboys moniker with past members of the original band: Guy Bailey, Nigel Mogg, Chris Johnstone and Rudy Richman.
