Stereolab are an electronic and avant-pop group from London.
Led by the songwriting team of Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier, the group's music combined influences from krautrock, lounge and 1960s pop music, often incorporating a repetitive motorik beat with heavy use of vintage electronic keyboards and female vocals sung in English and French. Also drawing from funk, jazz and Brazilian music, the band were one of the first artists to be dubbed "post-rock", and are regarded among the most innovative and influential groups of the 1990s. Their discography includes 13 studio albums and various compilations, EPs, and singles. Their debut album 'Peng! dropped in 1992, with their latest being 2010's 'Not Music' (a collection of post-hiatus unreleased tracks). The band announced their reunion in 2019. Stereolab will support their new compilation album 'Pulse Of The Early Brain: Volume 5'—due for release on September 2—with a run of UK and European shows in late 2022.
