The World Of Hans Zimmer is a concert celebration of the works of the world-renowned German composer and producer, who is known for his film scores for movies such as 'Gladiator' and 'The Da Vinci Code'.
Starting his music career in 1977, as a member of bands such as Krakatoa, the Buggles, Krisma, Helden, as a keyboard and synthesizer player, before he moved into composing film scores, working on films such as ‘Rain Man’, in 1988, ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ in 1989, ‘Thelma & Louise’ in 1991, and ‘The Lion King’ in 1994.
Other films include ‘Gladiator’ (2000), ‘Black Hawk Down’ (2001), ‘The Last Samurai’ (2003), ‘Madagascar’ (2005), ‘The Da Vinci Code’ (2006), ‘The Simpsons Movie’ (2007), and ‘Sherlock Holmes’ (2009).
He has won an Academy Award, three Grammy Awards, and two Golden Globes. Zimmer recently worked with Johnny Marr on the soundtrack for the movie ‘Freeheld’ and David Attenborough’s ‘Planet Earth II’!
In 2019, a new show will head to some of the UK's biggest venues in spring for a Symphonic Celebration of the World of Hans Zimmer, in which a symphonic orchestra led by Gavin Greenaway will present the composer’s works arranged for a live symphony orchestra for the very first time.
