ABC were a new wave band from Sheffield, but today serves as a solo project for founding member Martin Fry.
Founded in 1980, the band released their debut album, ‘Lexicon Of Love’, in 1982, which hit #1 in the UK Albums Chart and included hits such as Poison Arrow and The Look of Love. The band put out a further two albums before going on a short hiatus in 1985. Fry and founding member Mark White reformed the band as a duo, armed with a new record in the shape of ‘Alphabet City’, in 1987. After a further two albums and a second hiatus, the band reformed again to release 'Skyscraping' in 1997, before Fry re-emerged as a solo artist. ABC's discography now hosts a total of nine studio records, with 2016's 'The Lexicon Of Love II' being the most recent.
