Bearded Theory Festival is a music and performing arts festival in Catton Hall in the National Forest, Derbyshire held over four days in May.
Formed in 2007, over the years the festival has seen performances from the likes of Reverend and the Makers, Dreadzone, Peter Hook, Wonder Stuff, Asian Dub Foundation, New Model Army, Seth Lakeman, Stiff Little Fingers, Billy Bragg, The Levellers, and Killing Joke. The festival won UK Best Independent Festival in 2011 at the AIM Music Award, and Best Small Festival at the the UK Festival Awards in 2013, and Promoter of the Year at in 2014. May 2017 saw headliners Madness, Slaves, Seasick Steve and Skunk Anansie take to the festival, yet year after year it gets bigger and bigger, as Sleaford Mods, Reverend and the Makers, and the Jesus and Mary Chain were among the acts at the 2018 edition, as well as Jimmy Cliff, Miburn, the Coral, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Sleeper, Show Of Hands, the Shimmer Band, Random Hands, UK Subs, Ruts DC, Lucy Spraggan, Will Varley, and more. Editors, Stiff Little Fingers and Oh Sees are among the latest names confirmed for Bearded Theory Festival in May 2019, joining Suede, Reef, Steel Pulse, the Wildhearts and more!
