There’s clearly some strange 1980s time cock-up going on at the moment. The fashion keeps popping up on youths and celebrities whilst music keeps turning 80s out of nowhere. Something’s wrong. Doctor Who needs to be informed. There were a few plus points to the 80s, like level 42, but they never really went away. They just hid until the decade got less embarrassing. They’re back now. Mastodon Announce 2010 UK Tour Dates & Tickets
Yes, Troy Sanders looks a bit like a Mastodon (which resembles a wooly mammoth but isn’t one), but that’s not why they named their band after a huge lumbering beast that trolled around the ancient world. They just feel a bit like one as a band apparently. ‘Mastodon’ means ‘Nipple-tooth’ in Greek or Latin or Welsh or something. This also had nothing to do with their decision. They’ve announced a tour.
