Whitesnake Announce New Bassist And New Album Details

Rock legends Whitesnake have announced Michael Devin as their new bassist as well as details about their forthcoming new album.

Whitesnake hit their peak in popularity during the 1970’s and 1980’s, churning out some classic rock anthems such as ‘Here I Go Again’ and ‘Fool For Your Lovin’’. After a long silence the band are set to return in 2011, complete with a new line-up consisting of new boy Michael Devin on bass, Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach on guitars, Brian Tichy on drums, keyboard player Timothy Drury and of course Lord of the dry ice himself, vocalist David Coverdale.

Having previously worked alongside current Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy with Lynch Mob, Michael Devin now completes the new Whitesnake line-up set to feature on the band’s upcoming new album.

Speaking about his move to Whitesnake, Devin said: “It’s an honour to be welcomed into the Whitesnake family. I’m a big fan. Whitesnake is notorious for exciting musicianship, David’s history is rich, and I’m very proud to be here.”

Currently in the studio recording the new album, Whitesnake hope to get the new record on the shelves early next year. In addition to the new record fans can also look forward to the band’s live return, with a tour expected to follow the new release.

Time to dig out that white leather jacket!
