Taylor Swift Has A Record Eleven Songs In US Singles Chart

Taylor Swift has become the first female in American recording history to have eleven singles in the US singles chart at the same time.

All eleven tracks come from the songwriter’s hugely successful third studio album, ‘Speak Now’, which was released earlier this month. The news comes just weeks after Swift was revealed to have sold over a million records in her first week of sales: a feat not achieved by any artist since 2005.

The Beatles currently hold the record for most simultaneous chart entries, with fourteen singles in 1964. However, that record was achieved with singles from different albums.

As well as holding the female record for singles and an amazing first week of sales, Swift is also the youngest ever recipient of a Grammy Award and is speculated to be the highest-selling country artist since Shania Twain.

The twenty year old singer is expected to win big at this week’s Country Music Awards, which will take place this Wednesday (November 10th) in Nashville. Swift will be performing ‘Back To December’ at the ceremony, a song which many have speculated is about her past relationship with ‘Twilight’ star Taylor Lautner.
