Unsurprisingly, many artists have expressed their interest in supporting Take That on their giant UK tour next year, however are the newly-reformed five piece leaning towards British rapper Tinie Tempah?
In a recent interview, the ‘Pass Out’ star revealed that he has been in talks with Take That’s Gary Barlow about the prospect of supporting them on the tour. Speaking to The Sun, Tempah said: "We spoke about it and I will know more over the next few months. The tour is a very exciting prospect. I would jump at it in an instant."
He also added that Barlow was keen on a collaboration, saying: "Gary told me he'd love to have been on my single ‘Written In The Stars’, so I asked him to be on the next album. He was up for it."
However, the claims should perhaps be taken with a pinch of salt. Tinie Tempah is not the first artist to hint at connections with the recent success of Take That. Artists such as Cheryl Cole and Olly Murs have already been strongly linked with the support slot, but other performers are more than keen to get a look-in. Max George, a member of The Wanted recently confessed: "We would love it if they asked us, it would be incredible .Come on boys - if you let us do it, we'll let you support us on tour,"
Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon has even revealed that she is ‘gutted’ to have turned down a collaboration with the band last year. The singer was more than happy at the prospect, but forced to turn it down due to contractual obligations. She said: “Imagine me when I got that call – I’d been a massive, massive, teenage fan and I was like: ‘Yes, yes, yes!’ And then my manager told me I was contracted to do something else. I was gutted. I’ll happily do it on their next tour, though,” she added. “Spread the word!”
