McFly have recently spoke of their intimidation over X Factor contestants One Direction. Speaking to a British magazine earlier this week, the pop band announced that they feel threatened by the recent success of the young boyband.
McFly currently hold the Guinness World Record for being the youngest group ever to have earned a Number One album, but the band admitted that they fear One Direction are on course to steal that crown.
Speaking in the interview, lead singer Tom Fletcher said "How old are One Direction? I hope we're safe by the time they release an album. I think we'll be alright but I'm feeling a bit threatened right now. If they beat us do we have to give back our record? I hope not!"
He also admitted to being a big fan of the X Factor show: "It's incredible, I wish I was a part of it. It's the best possible platform for launching a music career."
The band are currently getting ready for a large-scale UK tour, however according to Harry Judd, they are unlikely to be busting out the dance moves. The drummer recently took on Rochelle Wiseman from The Saturdays in a special version of Strictly Come Dancing for Children In Need. Judd announced that the experience “was probably the most petrifying thing I've ever done in my life. It's very scary but it's for a great cause. I'm very versatile, aren't I? Drummer, dancer, actor..."
