Morrissey Furthers Johnny Marr's Criticism Of David Cameron

Morrissey has backed his former band member’s condemnation of Tory Prime Minister David Cameron.
The Smith’s guitarist originally wrote on his twitter “Stop saying that you like The Smiths, no you don’t. I forbid you to like it”, but didn’t cite a reason for his displeasure with the PM’s comments.
Now Morrissey has come out in support, saying on his site Truetoyou.net ‘I would like to, if I may, offer support to Johnny Marr who has spoken out to the media this week against David Cameron. To those who have expressed concern over Johnny’s words in view of the fact that David Cameron has pledged immense allegiance to the music of the Smiths, I would like to try to explain why I think Johnny is right not to be flattered.’
Then the singer’s notoriously vegetarian side shone through – he carried on his statement saying “It is true that music is a universal language – the ONLY universal language – and belongs to all, one way or another. However, with fitting grimness I must report that David Cameron hunts and shoots and kills stags – apparently for pleasure. It was not for such people that either ‘Meat is Murder’ or ‘The Queen is Dead’ were recorded; in fact, they were made as a reaction against such violence. We can’t believe what you say when we know what you do.”
The legend then continued his tirade, this time hitting out at Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music, saying he also frequently hunts.
David Cameron has also shown his appreciation for Bob Dylan, The Killers and Pink Floyd, but none have said anything to the media.
It’s not the first time a Prime Minister has been embarrassed by comments they have made on bands or musicians – Tony Blair once admitted he liked Oasis, only for Noel Gallagher to say he ‘took flak for it’, as well as the time Gordon Brown famously couldn’t name an Arctic Monkeys track after telling a Men’s mag he loved them.
