Razorlight Issue Official Statement Confirming New Lineup & London Show

Razorlight issued an official statement this evening after a rather strange looking press shot was leaked to the Internet, even becoming a trending topic on Twitter. The furore around the image proving yet again that bad publicity is good publicity!

The statement reads as follows:

"Today a picture of the new Razorlight line-up leaked online in conjunction with news that they will be headlining a number of festivals this summer.

We can officially confirm that founder members Bjorn Agren (guitar) and Carl Dalemo (bass) agreed on an amicable parting following unproductive early recording sessions for a new album late last year. Agren is currently producing, remixing and playing guitar with Lucy Rose and Carl Dalemo is planning his own band.

Gus Robertson (Mick Jones) comes in as guitarist and Freddie Stitz (Smokey Angle Shades) joins the band on bass. Skully, who took over when Andy Burrows left in 2008 continues as Razorlight’s drummer.

The new line-up of the band is set to headline a series of major shows across the summer including: Edinburgh Corn Exchange on April 3rd as part of the city festival Haddowfest, a large scale London (soon to be announced) outdoor event, Guilfest on 16th July, with more to be announced shortly.

The band are currently working on their new album."
