Metallica Hit The Studio For Work On New Album

Reports have surfaced that Metallica are heading for the recording studio to begin work on a new album in March and April.
Details were revealed by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich during an interview with a Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. The announcement of a new record comes as a surprise from the band who traditionally leave large gaps between each album release.
This new album will be the follow-up to Metallica's 2008 album 'Death Magnetic' and explaining the reason behind the quick release of new material, Ulrich revealed that the band are getting on well and want to continue the good vibe they have at the moment by creating new music together.
"In the past, we would be fed up with Metallica whenever we returned home after a gigantic world tour, but this time it's different," the drummer explained.
Metallica are confirmed to headline this year's UK Sonisphere Festival on July 8th, playing alongside fellow thrash metal heavyweights Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Other acts set to appear at the festival include Slipknot, Biffy Clyro, Airbourne, Weezer, Motorhead, Diamond Head and Weezer. More bands are to be announced over the next few months.
