Cee-Lo Green Offered Place On US ‘X Factor’

Tuesday, 01 March 2011 Written by James Conlon

Cee-Lo Green has revealed that he has been approached by producers of the US ‘X Factor’ to become a judge on the debut stateside series.

Speaking to British newspaper The Sun, the singer said: "I had a meeting with Simon the other day and I was just offered a job. I didn't say no but I didn't say yes either. I did mention to him that I am not a judge. I don't feel fit to judge people, but I can make observations."

However, it would appear that the BRIT award winner isn’t completely hesitant about stepping into a judging role. The singer recently confirmed that he would join the judging panel on a new vocal talent show for NBC. Cee-Lo Green will be a fixture on ‘The Voice’, an 'American Idol' rival show also featuring Maroon 5’s Adam Levine.

Speaking on securing the ‘Lady Killer’ star, executive producer of ‘The Voice’ Mark Burnett said: “I am so happy that Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green have joined the coach panel for The Voice. Aside from being incredible voices, they bring years of experience in the music industry and a really cool vibe that has never been seen before on a music competition series.”
