Lykke Li releases her second album ‘Wounded Rhymes’ this week, and has invited fans to explore her own journey with a website that combines Google Maps, Earth and Streetview with Lykke Li’s vision of the world (and beyond).

Users are invited to follow Lykke’s emotional journey across continents, exploring the album’s themes and plotting their own journeys on the way. Aside from being an unbelievably beautiful mash-up of Google’s services, the app creates a unique vision of ‘Wounded Rhymes’, which culminates in a very special and exclusive performance on the moon.

The application, built by UK web design agency Pretty Good, combines Google’s planetary mapping initiative Google Earth with the Google Maps, Google Fusion and Google Streetview APIs. Through the application the user is rewarded with a unique performance by Lykke on the surface of the moon through Google’s mapping of its surface.

Fans can also plot their own locations of emotional significance onto Google maps and share these with their friends on Facebook and Twitter. Throughout the journey fans are able to access videos, music and lyrics from the new album using integration with Soundcloud and YouTube and ask for hints and tips via Twitter.

Lykke says: “I’m really happy that we’ve been able to create something beautiful that allows my fans to experience my new album in such an interesting way”

Visit the Wounded Rhymes application now to experience Lykke’s journey and watch her mesmerising performance on the earth’s closest satellite. www.woundedrhymes.com
