Paolo Nutini has revealed that he may soon be putting the finishing touches on his third studio effort. The young singer/songwriter has been working on the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed 2009 album ‘Sunny Side Up’ and has claimed that the new album is nearing completion.
Speaking to the Daily Record, the Scottish singer said: "It could be finished soon. I have been trying some stuff out, working with different people. It could all go pretty quickly.”
Nutini continued, claiming that he believes his new album has developed a different sound to his previous releases: "I have played it to friends and, based on what I have heard back, it is a different vibe. There seems to be a lot more electric guitar. It is hard for me to talk about it as a body of work at the moment because it isn't one. We're at that point where it could still change."
The singer achieved great commercial success with his last LP ‘Sunny Side Up’, which reached Number One in the UK albums chart. However, Nutini has claimed that he wishes to feel “more comfortable” with the new material that he is producing to ensure that fans will really enjoy the gigs.
Paolo Nutini is set to appear on the main stage at this year’s Glastonbury festival.
