Snow Patrol Planning UK Tour for New Year?

Rumours were sparked today that Snow Patrol will be embarking on a UK tour early in 2012.

Snow Patrol have literally just finished recording what will be their sixth studio album, so with a release date likely to be set for later on this year, a tour around the beginning of next year seems a likely outcome – especially in their native UK.

Snow Patrol’s latest LP is half way to finished, with the writing and recording done and now just the long process leading up to the release remains. The album is still untitled as of yet, but does feature Owen Pallet, a Canadian composer who has previously worked with Arcade Fire among others. Brought into write brass and string arrangements for the album, vocalist and guitarist Gary Lightbody described the sound as “strange, beautiful and unlike anything we’ve had before.”

The band also recently announced they would be making what is only their second headline appearance of the year at the Pepsi Music Festival in Buenos Aires, on the 28th of September. This will be their second South American appearance in that week, as they play Rock in Rio just four days before.
