Muse To Start Work On Follow Up To 2009's 'The Resistance'

Devon-based rockers Muse will finally start work on a follow-up to their award winning album ‘The Resistance’ next month, after months of touring and playing shows across the world.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme spilt the beans in an interview with BBC Radio One, telling the show that the band would make a long-awaited return to the studio in September. He also told listeners that although the band is getting old, and frontman Matt Bellamy is now married with a child, they still plan to tour as extensively and consistently as ever before.

“September and October,” revealed Wolstenholme. “That’s when we’re going to get into the studio to start writing the new album.

“We’re always going to be the kind of band that wants to get out and play live. As the years go on there’s that temptation to cut the touring down less and less but we still love playing live. I can’t ever imagine we’ll be the kind of band that cut the touring down significantly.”

If you want to catch Muse before they head into the studio, you can see the band headlining both Reading and Leeds festival later this month.
