Evanescence Premiere New Single 'What You Want' - Listen Now!

American rockers Evanescence have released their first new single since 2007’s ‘Good Enough’.
‘What You Want’ was finally released yesterday after years of difficulties which saw the band lose and gain members multiple times and suffer countless delays in the writing, producing and funding of their album.
Two drummers were drafted in to help with writing, with the original stickman Will Hunt keeping his place in the band. Former guitarist Troy McLawhorn reportedly re-joined the band in the middle of production, which was denied by the band’s manager but later confirmed by vocalist Amy Lee. The band also went through multiple producers on their quest to obtain the perfect sound for the new album.
But, four years later, the five-piece have finally managed to put a single out – with one un-official YouTube version of song already receiving 40,000 hits within the first day. You can hear the new track in the embedded video below.
Singer Amy Lee has spoken about the track, and said: “It's about freedom - that's definitely a constant theme on the record, and the chorus - 'Remember who you really are' - that's exactly everything you could assume it means.”
The full new studio album is due out on October 11th. Evanescence will be touring the UK this November – if you want to catch the band playing their new material this autumn, check below for dates and tickets.
