Roger Waters' The Wall Live Set For Stadium Shows in 2012

Former Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters will be bringing his best-selling Wall back to the states next year – with bigger and better venues this time around.
The bassist and vocalist had massive success with his ‘The Wall Live’ tour, which saw him playing through Pink Floyd album ‘The Wall’ in its entirety. Now, after missing certain venues earlier this year, he’s decided to bring his tour back to the US, making sure he hits up some of the cities and concert halls he missed out last time - and will even venture into baseball stadiums to take the tour to the next level.
“There are quite a few markets we didn't cover last time, like Austin,” Waters explained. “But we want to base the tour around Saturday nights in baseball stadiums. As we speak, I'm at my office working on an outdoor version of the show.
“We're going to be projecting over 140 yards, so now it's going to be 1,500 pixels wide. We've done light tests and Fenway Park and Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium just to see what the ambient light is like. And it's fine. It works. We've taken part of the Wall and the projectors into those three places.”
So, will the stadium-sized shows be a US only thing? It looks likely – by the time this proposed US tour comes to a close, he’ll have been on the road for the best part of two years – and Waters admits he’ll probably be exhausted by then.
“They're trying to get me back to Europe next year, but I think I'll be completely cooked by the end of July next year. I'm not sure I want to go out and do the greatest hits again, which just sucks. What I love to do is theatre in a rock & roll context. I think if I did any more in the future, it might well be smaller.”
