Jessie J Leads The Nominees For Tonight's MOBO Awards

Tonight’s Mobo awards marks the 16th anniversary of the ceremony, which is dedicated to celebrating music of black origin.

The event will take place in Glasgow, marking the second time it has been held in Scotland and only the third it has been held outside of London.

Leading the nominees is 'Price Tag' singer Jessie J after she was nominated for best UK act, best album, best video, best song and best newcomer.

Just behind her and nominated for a prestigious four awards each are pop sensation Adele and rappers Tinie Tempah and Wretch 32.

Also scheduled for the evening is a special tribute to Amy Winehouse who was found dead in her flat earlier, on July 27th of this year.

Guests will honour the Rehab singer’s contributions to music with the tribute being led by Winehouse’s Goddaughter and protégé Dionne Bromfield, who is also nominated for the best UK R&B/Soul act.

15-year-old Bromfield will also perform a specially selected Winehouse song as Mobo remember the singer who had lengthy and public battles with alcohol and addiction.

US star Jason Derulo and singer Alesha Dixon will be hosting the awards event, set to take place at Glasgow's Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC).

Glasgow is also set to host the Mobo’s 20th anniversary in 2015.
