The Ordinary Boys Release New Track ‘Run This Town’ – Listen Now

Monday, 31 October 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Worthing-based rockers The Ordinary Boys have released a new track entitled ‘Run This Town’ ahead of their reunion tour in December. Watch a video for the song below. The December tour dates are among the band’s first live shows since their split in 2008 – see below for all dates and tickets.

Since the band’s split, singer Samuel Preston released a solo single ‘Dressed to Kill’ and has since forged a career as a successful songwriter for other artists. He recently co-wrote Olly Murs’s Number One hit ‘Heart Skips A Beat’.

Speaking about the forthcoming dates, Preston said: “I desperately miss those early, sweaty Ordinary Boys shows. I organised some time off in December to play some of my favourite venues from those days as a little release for myself and to give those songs the decent send off that they deserve. There is no reason beyond the fun of playing. I just need something loud and fast in my life and I want to do it before I turn 30 next year.”

The Ordinary Boys released three albums between 2004 and 2006, which all entered the Top 20 of the UK Albums Chart. They also achieved two Top 10 hits with the singles ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ and ‘I Luv U’.
