Chicago lo-fi rockers Pelican have announced some rare UK shows for Spring 2012.
Four-piece Pelican play ambient and emotive music, which has seen them compared to the likes of Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky and Godspeed!
Owing a great debt to the pioneering band Neurosis, Pelican made their their debut with an eponymous self-titled EP in 2003 and expanded their sound with the 2004 release of their critically acclaimed 'Australasia'.
'March Into the Sea' followed in 2005 before the release of, arguably, their most accomplished record to date 'The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw'. 'City Of Echoes' followed in 2007 before Pelican released their latest album 'What We All Come To Need' in 2009.
Pelican will visit the UK for some rare shows in April 2012. Kicking-off the short tour at London's Garage on 7th April, Pelican will also stop off at venues in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.
Pelican UK Tour Dates are as follows:
April 2012
Apr 7th - The Garage, London
Apr 8th - Birmingham, VUDU
Apr 9th - Leeds, Brudenell Social Club Apr 10th - Glasgow, Stereo
Apr 11th - Ruby Lounge Manchester Apr 12th - The Haunt, Brighton Apr 13th - The Cooler, Bristol
