Stars To Deliver Special Rendition Of 'The Message' At Grammy Awards

With the eyes of the music industry looking forward to the upcoming Grammys, the hype is already building for an exclusive and momentous rendition at this year’s nomination ceremony.

Two-time Grammy winners LL Cool J (pictured) and Common will join Grammy winner Lupe Fiasco and rapper Rick Ross for a tribute of Grandmaster Flash’s ‘The Message.’

Joined by the original Grandmaster and his furious five, this performance will convolute the illustrious dynamics of contemporary and non-contemporary hip hop; old school and new school on stage, at once, all together.

‘The Message’ is widely accepted as one of hip hop’s all time greatest songs. In 2002, the song was one of 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry, the first hip hop recording ever to receive this honour. The track was also recently inducted in the Grammys Hall of Fame.

The song is renowned for its lyrics "its like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder why I keep from going under", making reference to the harsh brutal, gangster and drug fuelled projects in New York’s South Bronx during the early 80’s.

With LL hosting the show and dropping his own stuff into this song, ‘The Message’ looks set for a great rendition.

Apart from this fabulous array of talent being lined up for just this one song, there will also be performances from Rihanna, Ludacris and Usher.

The nomination ceremony will take place Wednesday 30th November 10pm (6am BST) and the actual Grammy Awards taking place on 12th February, 2012.
