Jason Derulo Lucky To Be Alive Following Neck Break

After suffering a fracture to his neck, R&B singer Jason Derulo was in surprisingly high spirits – posing for a picture and remaining confident that his tour would still be going ahead. Now, after it emerged that the injury had forced him to cancel his world tour, doctors have revealed that he is actually lucky to be alive.
The star took to Twitter to inform fans of his neck break, but, as mentioned, he took the injury in very light spirits – posing in the hospital with a neck brace he described as his ‘new chain’. But when doctors told him he’d be stuck in the brace for a while, and that he should definitely be taking it easy, he was forced to cancel the tour of the world.
He wrote in a statement: “To all my fans who planned to come to the 'Future History' world tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I've sustained. My fans mean everything to me, so I'm praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.”
But now it appears that a world tour cancellation was the least of his worries – and that he could have easily died after the incident.
“My injury is called a 'Hang Man's Break' because it is the same bone that is broken when someone is hung,” Derulo wrote through his Facebook page. “I am so blessed to still be here! 95 per cent of ppl with the same injury end up paralysed or gone. Everything happens for a reason. Traumatic experiences can change you for the better. My outlook on life is so much clearer! Don't forget what's important. Life is short so do it today, tomorrow could be a day too late!”
