Mitch Winehouse, father of late soul singer Amy Winehouse, is considering organising a memorial concert for his daughter – which could feature big bands and artists like Florence + the Machine and Jessie J.
The potential show would reportedly go ahead around the anniversary of the singer’s death, which was in July last year. A source has told the Daily Mail that as well as organising the concert, he’s hoping to get ITV1 to televise it, and will donate proceeds to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
“Mitch first mentioned hosting a concert last summer but now the wheels are in motion,” the source revealed. “Florence, Lily Allen, Jessie J and Mark Ronson are being linked to the gig, but nothing is set in stone yet.”
Also in Mitch’s ideas is a statue of the singer, which he hopes to erect outside The Roundhouse – one of the last venues graced by Amy.
