Simple Minds to Release New ‘x5’ Box Set Ahead of Tour

Following the news of their upcoming 5x5 Tour, Simple Minds have announced the release of a new box set, which compiles their first five albums remastered with rare bonus material. The box set is due for release on 13th February to coincide with the tour and will feature all of the band’s first five albums from their 1981 debut ‘Life in a Day’ up to 1982’s ‘New Gold Dream’, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
On the upcoming tour, which kicks off in Portugal on 14th February and includes five dates in the UK and Ireland, Simple Minds will be performing five songs from each of their first five albums. Speaking about the tour, frontman Jim Kerr said: “This is the set that so many who appreciate Simple Minds have been begging us to play and finally this is that one-off chance to see it.”
