Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl: '2011 Was The Best Year Of My Life'

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has opened up about how he thinks 2011 was the best year of his whole life – and how him and his band still think they suck.
Speaking to music website Billboard, Grohl admitted that although they’re a world-beating supergroup, they still feel like a group of ‘five dorks’ – and that they feel no different from when they used to tour in their van around 17 years ago. He then went on to say that 2011 had been a great year for him.
“You have to understand, we're a really simple band,” Grohl told Billboard. “We think we suck and we try really hard to make good records and we practice. We don't feel like the biggest, best band in the world. We just feel like the same five dorks that were touring in a van 17 years ago, that hasn't changed.”
“It's been a good one, 2011 was very good to me. I was at a New Year's Eve party and someone asked me how was my year, and I said I honestly think 2011 was the best year of my entire life, and I actually meant it.”
The Foo Fighters are currently back in the studio working on a follow up to last year’s ‘Wasting Light’.
