Nickelback Reply To Hundreds Of Haters Via Twitter

Canadian rockers Nickelback may be one of the highest-selling rock bands, ranking as the second best-selling foreign act in the U.S (trailing only to The Beatles) in the 2000’s, but they’re also one of the most-hated and insulted bands on the planet – they even have a website dedicated to calling them a ‘lazy, talentless bunch of wankers’. Usually, they don’t respond to their hordes of haters – but now, the band have taken to Twitter to hit back.

The band started receiving a number of insulting tweets – well, a few more than normal – on Sunday evening, from hundreds of users across the world. Some of them were hilarious, some of them creative, some of them were plain mean – but they seemed to tweak a nerve, and the band began messaging loads of them back.

One user said to the band: “My mom called to offer me Nickelback tickets so I hung up on her,” to which they replied: “@longjenna because you already got them..... #soclever.” Not the most convincing comeback, but hey, at least they tried.

Abby Jensen seems to particularly not like the band, and wrote: “Nickelback came on the radio.... Worse than rebecca black #earsbleeding,” with Nickelback retorting: “@abbyjensen4 then it's working?!?!? Sweet!”

Cody Burrows tweeted the band saying: “I would see Bush and Seether. Oh wait, Nickelback is headlining. #fuckthatnoise,” causing the band to tweet back: “@murderousmedic Unabomber, is that you? Come down to support the other bands. Then u can go and fuck all the noise u want alone in ur car.”

One less creative user messaged them simply saying ‘Retire’, with the band writing back: “@SloanieGaines you're trying too hard. Get it together and make it count.”

In other Nickelback-hate related news, the Black Keys accused the band of ‘killing rock n’ roll, to which the band also replied, and a new tool called ’Nickelblock’ has been developed to block all mention of the band from the internet – so you don’t have to ever read or hear about them again.

For those of you who are fans (there are some out there, right?), the band have just announced a US tour – and are expected to make the trip across the pond to the UK too. The US dates can be seen below – and stick with Stereoboard if you want to find out the UK dates when they surface.
